Other World Concept Game Audio
This project is a synergy of acousmatic assets, soundscapes and interactive sound design created to be implemented in the game in development called Other World. As part of the overall audio-visual experience, the sound composition of this game unifies with the immersive world of the game by combining figurative and abstract sound styles.
The concept sound builds a large scale sound structure that encompasses gameplay scenarios, each featuring different temporalities. Soundscapes are naturalistic field recordings merged with synthetic soundscapes played as music rather than traditional background sounds. This achieves a musical environment that interacts with the player and the game, making a psychological impact on the player in relation to the upcoming scenario. In this specific presentation, the aim is to make sound travel between diegetic and non-diegetic space of a represented world, leaned towards non-diegetic space since there is no empirical visualisation to embody it.
